Local Kids Can Participate in Badges for Baseball

Fredericksburg, Stafford and Spotsylvania police, fire and sheriff’s departments are participating in Badges for Baseball 2016 at Sunshine Ballpark in Fredericksburg.

First responders partner as mentors and coaches with kids ages 6 – 14 in activities, games and, of course, baseball.

City of Fredericksburg – Badges for Baseball
Monday – Friday, June 20 – 24, 2016
9 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Stafford County – Badges for Baseball
Monday – Friday, June 27 – July 1, 2016
9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Sunshine Ballpark is located at 1200 Wicklow Dr. in Fredericksburg.

The Sunshine Ballpark Foundation was established in 2010, and continues the fundraising and program development initiatives begun in 2006 with The Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation’s “Playball Fredericksburg” initiative.

Its mission is “to provide educational and physical development opportunities for disadvantaged, challenged, and able young people through programs and partnerships with law enforcement agencies, schools, and community organizations.
