Northern Neck Electric Cooperative has received notice from our power supplier that the electrical system is being stressed to its fullest extent as a result of the extreme cold from the winter storm.
We urge you to now reduce your load (your electricity usage) at your home. A few simple ways to do this include:
- Lowering your thermostat at least two degrees
- Turn off and unplug any unnecessary electronics, including lights
- Do not use any appliances or other electronics unless necessary
- If you have an electric water heater, delay the use of hot water at this time
We understand that this is a challenge, and we appreciate your patience and understanding during this extreme weather event.
