Two suspects in the shooting of a Fredericksburg teen arrested

Fredericksburg Police say U.S. Marshals took Lorenzo Brooks and Aaron Carter into custody for the homicide of Jasiah Smith on Thursday afternoon.
16-year-old Brooks of Fredericksburg is charged with first-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
19-year-old Carter of Fredericksburg is charged with second-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
City Police say Brooks and Carter were taken into custody in Temple Hill, Maryland, without incident. They are currently incarcerated at the Upper Marlboro Corrections Center without bond.
Spokeswoman Sarah Morris says on Sunday, March  26th at 2:56 p.m., the Fredericksburg E-911 Center received a call for shots fired in the 400 block of Chadwick Court. Patrol officers arrived at 2:59 p.m. to discover Jasiah Smith unresponsive, lying in a parking space with multiple gunshot wounds. Patrol officers performed CPR and provided life-saving measures until EMS arrived and transported Jasiah to a nearby hospital. Shortly after arriving at the hospital, Jasiah was pronounced dead.
Morris says City Police  thank U.S. Marshals for their assistance with this investigation. The Fredericksburg Police Department would also like to thank everyone who assisted in the investigation by sharing messages to locate the suspects.
