Thursday evening, a large mulch pile fire was reported near the intersection of Courthouse Road and Austin Ridge Road. As heavy equipment was brought in overnight to break the pile down to assist with suppression efforts, the fire continued to reignite. Stafford Fire and Rescue crews were on scene all night, and remain on scene, and will continue to be on scene for an extended period of time.
Smoke is visible from I-95 and crews continue to work along side heavy equipment operators to extinguish the fire. The fire is not threatening any residences or other structures.
**Please be aware, there may be detours throughout the day as apparatus are repositioned to effectively extinguish the fire**
