Rock Out Knock Out Homelessness takes place Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Southpoint Walmart in Spotsylvania. The community is encouraged to donate money or items to benefit Treasure House, which supports local students and their families.
On Friday, Spotsylvania Schools Social Workers collected donations for four hours, including a generous contribution from a Westmoreland customer who said giving was both “fun” and “the right thing to do.” Many of those social workers will also help unload the truck Saturday evening at Treasure House.
Every dollar and every item collected makes a direct difference in the lives of children who might otherwise go without the basics. From laundry detergent to backpacks to food, these gifts bring dignity, relief, and hope to families who are struggling. Organizers say it’s a simple way for neighbors to lift up neighbors—and to remind students in need that their community cares.
