Caroline County
- All schools will be closed for students Monday, Feb. 2, due to persistent ice, overnight refreezing, and limited clearing on secondary and tertiary roads. Essential employees will report from 8 a.m.-4 p.m; 12-month employees from 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m; licensed staff are asked to review email sent by building principal; all extracurricular activities are canceled; Feb. 16 will now be a full instructional day.
Fredericksburg
- All Fredericksburg City schools and facilities will be closed Monday, Feb. 2, on Code Red due to road and sidewalk conditions. Schools will operate on Code Blue, which is a remote-learning day. All staff, including 12-month employees, should plan to work remotely from home. Essential employees should report according to supervisor’s guidance.
- The School Board meeting scheduled for Monday has been moved to Feb. 9.
King George County
- All schools will be closed to students Monday, Feb. 2, due to hazardous road conditions. Code 2 for 12-month employees.
Spotsylvania County
- All schools will be Code 3 on Monday, Feb. 2, and Tuesday, Feb. 3. Code 3 is a remote-learning day for students with 12-month employees reporting on time. All school and non-school activities, including externships, are canceled.
- The School Board work session and budget public hearing will take place as scheduled Monday at 5:30 p.m.
Stafford County
- Stafford schools, school offices and buildings will be closed for students Monday, Feb. 2. All 12-month staff should report on time, in person. If unable to do so, telework is authorized with supervisor approval. Liberal use of personal leave is authorized. All 10- and 11-month licensed staff are encouraged to telework with buildings open to staff who would prefer to report in person. No 10- or 11-month service staff are expected to report except emergency personnel. All emergency staff will be notified directly by their supervisors if they are required to report.
- The free grab-and-go meal service will be expanded to three locations Monday:
- NEW: Rocky Run Elementary School (95 Reservoir Road, Fredericksburg, VA 22406)
- Edward E. Drew Middle School (501 Cambridge St., Fredericksburg, VA 22405)
- Kate Waller Barrett Elementary School (150 Duffy Drive, Stafford, VA 22554)
Meals may be picked up between 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
