Spotsylvania County detectives, alongside Virginia State Police arrested James Branton on multiple sex offense charges Friday.
One of Branton’s alleged victims is believed to be Fredericksburg area resident Katelin Akens, his stepdaughter who was reported missing more than 10 years ago.
This investigation remains open and active, and the sheriff’s office officials said they “remain committed to locating Katelin and bringing her home to her family.”
