Planning District 16 Juneteenth celebration moved up one week

The annual Planning District 16 Juneteenth celebration will now be held June 6 at North Stafford High School. The event will begin at 2 p.m. with a job fair hosted exclusively by Kalahari Resorts and Conventions, the indoor waterpark set to open in November in the Thornburg area of Spotsylvania County.

Planning District 16 includes, Fredericksburg as well as Stafford, Spotsylvania, Caroline, and King George counties.

The event was previously scheduled to take place June 13. In addition to the job fair, there will be food trucks, vendors, a Mr. and Ms. Juneteenth pageant, and other family-friendly activities. Admission is free.
