Caroline’s Calveric named president of Virginia Association of School Superintendents

Caroline County Public Schools announced Tuesday that Superintendent Sarah Calveric has been named president of the Virginia Association of School Superintendents (VASS).

As president of VASS, Calveric will serve as a leading voice for public education, working collaboratively with school divisions, policymakers, and stakeholders to support and strengthen Virginia’s public school system.

“Dr. Calveric’s appointment reflects her outstanding leadership, commitment to educational excellence, and unwavering dedication to students, staff, and communities across the Commonwealth of Virginia,” a release from CCPS stated.

Calveric is in her eighth year as Caroline’s superintendent. She perviously served as the division’s assistant superintendent. She’s helped CCPS make strides in student achievement, community engagement, and innovative program, according to the division’s release.

“Her vision and passion for education have made a lasting impact locally and positioned her as a respected leader statewide,” the release stated.

The Virginia Association of School Superintendents is a professional organization dedicated to supporting and advocating for public education across the state. As president, Calveric will help guide the organization’s efforts to advance educational policy, leadership development, and student success initiatives.

VASS announced its slate of 2026-27 officers on Monday during the organization’s annual conference.
