In the spring, Amazon Data Services filed an 878-page petition in King George County Circuit Court requesting a review of the Board of Zoning Appeals’ March 25 decision to deny the company’s request for a determination of vested rights of 869 acres it owns in the county for the purpose of constructing a data center campus. The case is scheduled for a two-day trial, starting May 4, 2026.

County staff is recommending that the planning commission deny a special use permit for a 75-foot tall double-sided pylon U-Haul sign on approximately 3.6 acres in the Commercial District. The property is located at 5801 Southpoint Centre Boulevard, a quarter of a mile east of the intersection of Patriot Highway (U.S. Route 1) and Southpoint Drive.

The supervisors will hold a public hearing on increasing the towing fee in Stafford from $135 to $210 to bring the county code in line with state law. They also will hear an overview of the current state of transportation, including planning, engineering and construction of various projects with a focus on upcoming grant programs.
