Courtney Mersiowsky, Superintendent of Special Events for Fredericksburg Parks, Recreation and Events, says parade-goers should plan to arrive early, as street closures and growing crowds make it difficult to move around once the afternoon restrictions begin.
Mersiowsky says No Parking rules begin Saturday at 2. Any vehicles left on the parade route will be towed, since staging and emergency access depend on keeping the streets completely clear. Traffic along the parade route is closed at 3:30.
Spectators are urged to stay behind the curb and keep children out of the street. Floats and large vehicles are difficult to stop quickly, and maintaining a safe distance is essential. Parade info at: fredericksburgchristmasparade.com
