Audrey Ann Stanley, 86, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center in Spotsylvania, Virginia.
She was born July 31,1939, in Alexandria, Virginia, to Melvin Bernhardi Ayres and Audrey Irene Hicks. She was the middle child of 11 kids. Audrey married the love of her life, Wallace Alexander Stanley Jr. in Franconia, Virginia, on July 23, 1956. They were married for 57 years until Wallace’s passing in 2013.
Audrey, more affectionately referred to as Ann, led a life full of love. She worked extremely hard to achieve everything she ever wanted in life. She was incredibly selfless, always making sure that her loved ones were taken care of. Ann was also guided by her faith as a devout Christian woman. She brought a smile to each and every individual she encountered and left an indelible impact wherever she went.
Ann is survived by her three children, Wallace Glenn, Daniel Alex, and Sheila Elizabeth; as well as her two siblings, Sandra and Bert. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her eight other siblings, Sammy, Lois, Bubba, Shirley, Nellie, Joyce, Ella, and Melvina; as well as her granddaughter, Jennifer Ann.
Ann was a headstrong and compassionate woman that loved her family and friends to no end. Aside from this, she loved to dance, go bowling, play slot machines and scratch-off tickets, try new restaurants, and to cook and bake for others. Anyone lucky enough to be the recipient of her treats knows that she made the best cherry candy in the whole wide world!
The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 12, 2026, at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg, where the funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.
