This meeting is a continuance of the March 24 meeting. The board will hear a presentation from County Administrator Charles Culley on his proposed budget, followed by a discussion among board members. The school division is eagerly anticipating the rollout of the budget. School officials said in February that they’re expecting a $1.8 million gap in local funding from the board of supervisors.

City council will discuss compensation for public employees, as well as longer-term projects included in the capital improvement plan. Regarding water and sewer rate increases — which are being advertised at 8 percent — city staff is expected to reveal a plan including tiered users, with those using more than 25,000 gallons per month being classified as large users.

The Spotsylvania Commons applicant is seeking rezoning of five parcels consisting of approximately 24.2 acres from Residential 1 to Planned Development Housing District with proffers, including a Generalized Development Plan for the development of 70 single-family attached units and 61 single-family detached units. The properties are located on the east side of Lafayette Boulevard south of Village Drive.
