FAMPO, a regional transportation planning body, will talk about the Long Range Transportation Plan 2055 Transportation Goals & Needs survey results. The policy committee will also discuss the Bridges and Safety Infrastructure for Community Success Act, which addresses subjects such as bridges and high-risk roads.

City council will once again discuss the FY 2027 budget — including school transfer, revenue and propositions — before holding a public hearing on it. The public hearing will be broken into five separate parts: Fiscal Year 2027 Proposed Operating Budget; Proposed Increase in Water and Sewer Rates; Proposed Increase in Water and Sewer Availability Fees; Proposed Increase in Emergency Medical Service Fees; Proposed Increase in Real Estate Tax.

Board of supervisors and service authority board of directors meeting, Wednesday, 5:30 p.m.

The board will listen to a presentation from Renee Parker and Claudette Jordon that will serve as an update on the Ralph Bunche Alumni Association’s (RBAA) project to renovate Ralph Bunche High School and transform it into a community center. RBAA is partnering with former NFL lineman Jermon Bushrod’s Visualize and Rize foundation to complete the multi-million dollar project. In 2021, the NPS African American Civil Rights Grant Program provided a $500,000 grant to the county to replace the school’s roof.

Spotsylvania County

School board work session, Monday, 5:30 p.m. 

  • FY26 budget discussion and reconciliation

The board will consider proposed cuts from its approved budget to balance the Fiscal Year 2027 budget. The school board was left with a $5.8 million shortfall after the board of supervisors’ approved budget. Superintendent Clint Mitchell and his staff was able to get that number down to $3.4 million with recommended cuts from the school board’s approved budget, including adding only two Career and Technical Education instructors instead of the five that the school board approved. State funds will also be factored into the final adopted budget.

Stafford County

Board of supervisors meeting, Tuesday, 5 p.m.

The supervisors will get a presentation on future data center revenue in the county. The board also will discuss setting certain tax rates, including the levy for personal property on vehicles. It is expected to remain at an effective rate of $2.86 per $100 of a car’s estimated fair-market value. The supervisors are not slated to discuss the real-estate tax rate at this meeting. Instead, that discussion is scheduled for April 28.

Planning commission meeting, Wednesday, 6 p.m.

The commission’s meeting will be almost all data centers, all the time. Public hearings will be held on the Potomac Creek Campus project, which proposes up to 975,000 square feet of data center space on 99 acres; the Accokeek Tech Park data center project, which envisions 690,000 square feet of data center space on 120 acres; and an electric substation for the Vantage data center project, which is being developed by right.
