The St George Voices
The St. George Voices present an eclectic program of vocal music from the Renaissance to Jazz, including music by Josquin des Pres, Heinrich Scheutz, Tomas Luis de Victoria, George Gershwin and Bily Joel. This concert begins at 7:30 p.m.
Organ Concert
Director of Music Ministries John Vreeland and two other organists will feature the music of Brahms, Buxtehude, John Williams and others on St. George’s Parsons Pipe Organ. This concert begins at 9 p.m. In addition, Fredericksburg resident Trystan Bennett will perform the “Star Wars” finale, and Falmouth resident Achim Loch will play his own version of music from the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy.
The St. George Jazz Ensemble
The St. George Jazz Ensemble performs jazz, funk and Latin jazz, with music by Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea and others. This concert begins at 10:30 p.m.
St George’s is located at 905 Princess Anne St. Admission to all First Night Concerts is free. A free will offering will be taken to support the church’s work providing scholarship assistance and medical care to children at Notre Dame d’ Annociation School in Haiti.
