Kathryn Falk Named Market Vice President at Cox
Kathryn Falk has been named market vice president for Northern Virginia Operations at Cox Communications. Falk has served as an interim in that role since February 2015. The Northern Virginia operation includes the cities of Fredericksburg, Fairfax, and Falls Church; the counties of Stafford, Spotsylvania, and Fairfax; and the towns of Vienna, Herndon, and Clifton.

Fredericksburg-based EOIR Technologies Receives James S. Cogswell Award
EOIR Technologies, a defense contracting company located and headquartered in Fredericksburg, Va. for more than 35 years, was recently been awarded the James S. Cogswell Award. This is the highest honor the Defense Security Service (DSS) presents to cleared government contractors. Of the more than 13,500 cleared defense contractors and approximately 500 companies nominated in 2016, EOIR was one of the only 42 facilities to receive this award. Established in 1966, the Cogswell Award demonstrates the need for a true partnership between industry and government to ensure the protection of classified information, materials, and programs. EOIR has some 400 staff providing state-of- the-art technology solutions from 11 U.S. offices and a number of U.S. and overseas client locations.

Midst of the Storm Ribbon Cutting
The Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting for Midst of the Storm, a new custom storage and organizing services company owned by Tracie Logan. The storefront opens in July at 3447 Jefferson Davis Hwy. SimVentions Named in Inc. Magazine’s “50 Best Places to Work”
SimVentions has been named one of the top 50 workplaces in America by Inc. Magazine. The Stafford-based government contractor working mainly in the defense, intelligence and national security arenas was founded in 2000, and has grown to more than 250 employees.

Regal Garrisonville 12 Planned for The Garrison at Stafford
Regal Entertainment Group is planning a 12-screen movie theater for The Garrison at Stafford, formerly known as Stafford Village. The 50,539-square-foot theater will include a lounge, recliner seating, and the ability to show traditional and 3D films on every screen. Opening is planned for 2017.

Jeff Rouse Swim and Sports Center Open in Stafford
The $13 million, 76,000-square foot Jeff Rouse Swim and Sports Center is open. Located at 1600 Mine Rd., the facility features a 50- by 25-meter main pool with 900 spectator seats. It also includes a heated therapy pool, a group exercise room, a fitness room, a hard court gym, and a food-service grill. Classes and programs are offered for all ages. The center is named for Olympic gold medalist and Stafford resident Jeff Rouse.
