Eastern Mennonite University (EMU) student Hannah Nichols (Fredericksburg, VA) has been named to the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) All-Academic Team for Women’s Indoor/Outdoor Track & Field.

A total of 105 EMU students were named to the ODAC All-Academic Team, setting a new high mark of honorees for the Royals. All 16 of EMU’s ODAC-sponsored sports were represented on the All-Academic Team.

EMU’s total of 105 is 13 more than last year and eclipsed the previous high of 103 set in 2015-16. This is just the second time in the history of the award that Eastern Mennonite has earned more than 100 honorees.

Eligibility for the ODAC All-Academic Team is open to any student-athlete that competes in a conference-sponsored sport, regardless of academic class. He or she must achieve at least a 3.25 grade point average for the year to be considered for an ODAC All-Academic Award.

A total of 1,994 student-athletes earned a spot on the 2017-18 ODAC All-Academic Team, the second-highest total ever and down just slightly from last year’s record high of 2,001 honorees. Representatives from each of the conference’s 16 member institutions – 14 full-time and two associates – pushed the squad’s total over 1,000 for the 12th consecutive year.
