The TARDIS Has Marterialized at Salem Church Library

The TARDIS (Time and Relative Dimension in Space), the time travel machine utilized by Dr. Who on the geekily popular BBC television series, has materialized adjacent to the checkout desk at Salem Church Library.
The replica has been making its way ’round the branches of Central Rappahannock Regional Library, and will be at the Salem Church branch, 2607 Salem Church Rd., until October 12.

Celebration Planned to Honor Rob Grogan’s Life

Rob Grogan’s wife Virginia and daughter Lexi announced a celebration of Rob’s life to be held Sunday, March 16, at 4 p.m.
Grogan, editor of Front Porch Fredericksburg magazine, had been battling the rare carcinoid cancer.  He died Sunday, Feb. 23, at age 61.

One Day Opportunity: Civil War Kids Camp

Spotsylvania County is now accepting registrations for its unique Civil War Kids Camp. The hands-on camp for children ages 7 – 14 will take place from 8:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Friday, April 25, at the historic Dabney House.  The age determination date is Jan. 1, 2014.
Campers will visit various stations throughout the day to learn what life would have been like during the Civil War.  Stations will include life in the military, home life for families, the Underground Railroad, women’s roles in the war and more.
