To celebrate Veteran’s Day and the centennial anniversary of Armistice Day, the Fredericksburg Area Museum (FAM) will host a tour of its exhibition, World Aflame: A Hometown in Two World Wars. Global events like WWI and WWII have profoundly affected the Fredericksburg community. These events commemorate Fredericksburg’s veterans and citizens’ wartime sacrifices.

World Aflame: A Hometown in Two World Wars Tour: Participants will have the opportunity to tour FAM’s Word Aflame exhibition before it closes on December 31. This guided tour by historian and exhibition curator John Hennessey, will touch upon the stories of those that lived through the world wars and those that never returned. The program will be held November 7th from 7 – 8pm at the Fredericksburg Area Museum, 907 Princess Anne Street, Fredericksburg, VA 22401. FAM Members are invited to attend FREE of charge. Tickets are $10 for non-members and can be purchased that evening. RSVPs are highly recommended as tickets are limited. We will facilitate an understanding and appreciation of how the acts of those who preceded us have shaped this community and the nation at large—providing both lessons and inspiration as we work together to forge a greater community.
