  • Juan More Taco announced it will close its restaurant at 826 Caroline St. in Downtown Fredericksburg. The business’s Richmond location will remain open, and all scheduled food truck events will continue as planned. A closing date has not been announced.
  • There were 144 homes sold last week in the Fredericksburg region, according to the Fredericksburg Area Association of Realtors, including two in Stafford County for more than $1 million. Check back weekly for the new list.

  • The 2,256-square-foot office building at 1616 Stafford Ave. in Fredericksburg recently sold for $575,000, according to listing broker Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer. Toffee Bridge Holdings LLC bought it from Boss LLC as an investment.
  • Fredericksburg Technology has taken over a lease for 2,600 square feet of additional office space at 306 Frederick St. (Suite 201) in Fredericksburg. The company will house IT support staff there. The company’s other office at 1011-A and 1011-B Princess Anne St. in Fredericksburg will remain occupied and be utilized primarily for the field operations and installation division. A grand opening and ribbon cutting for the new office is planned.
  • A MooThru ice cream trailer is planned by June at the Meadows Farms landscape and garden center at 5043 Plank Road in Spotsylvania County. MooThru operates popular ice cream shops in Remington and Lake Anna.
  • Mary Washington Hospital recently installed a new antenna system to improve radio communication coverage for local first responders within the hospital. The $268,000 system involved antennas being placed throughout the building to enhance the transmission and reception of radio signals.
  • Mike Walsh has been named as the University of Mary Washington’s new vice president for student affairs.
  • Land adjacent to the Spotsylvania Towne Centre is being prepped for future development.

    Spotsylvania Towne Centre owner Cafaro has been clearing land in front of the development off State Route 3 as part of some long-range planning. Cafaro spokesman Joe Bell said the company has considered several possible configurations for developing the site, but he said no construction is expected in the immediate future.

  • Celebree School of Stafford, a child-care and early childhood education provider, recently opened at 24 Center St. in Stafford.
  • Pasadena Villa Outpatient, a mental-health treatment center at 125 Woodstream Blvd. in North Stafford, recently received a commercial occupancy permit.
  • Dr. Van Wilson has been appointed as the Interim President of Germanna Community College effective July 1.
  • Bora Bora Smoothie Cafe recently leased 2,050 square feet of retail space at 296 Garrisonville Road in North Stafford, according to Coldwell Banker Commercial Elite.
  • An application has been submitted by U.S. Solar for a conditional use permit to allow a 4.2-megawatt solar-energy facility at a 26.2-acre property south of State Route 3 in Stafford approximately 800 feet west of Michael Scott Lane (near the Little Falls Run Wastewater Treatment Facility).
  • Discount Appliance has leased the 6,000-square-foot end-cap space at the Westwood Shopping Center in Fredericksburg where a mattress store used to be.
  • Universal Title has opened at 706 Princess Anne St. in downtown Fredericksburg.
  • A local Big Lots store will re-open May 15 at 10611 Courthouse Road in Spotsylvania.
  • The 1.9-acre property where the Silver Diner was recently built at the entrance to Central Park in Fredericksburg recently sold for $5.74 million, according to the City’s monthly land transfers report. The seller was an affiliate of MCB Real Estate, and the buyer was New York City-based 2931 Plank Road LLC.
  • Lance is back on display in front of The Publisher Hotel.

    The Lance newsboy statue is now in place at its new home in front of The Publisher Hotel in Downtown Fredericksburg. Hotel owner Vakos Companies arranged to bring the statue back to the site (its original home when The Free Lance-Star was there). The statue is next to a new enclosed dining area at the hotel and its restaurant, Five Chophouse.

  • Atlantic Constructors Inc. recently leased 1,859 square feet of office space at 5126 Southpoint Parkway in Spotsylvania, according to Coldwell Banker Commercial Elite.
  • EC Venture LLC recently purchased the property at 9 Dorothy Lane in Stafford from LJ Morton LLC for $1.66 million, according to Coldwell Banker Commercial Elite.
  • Brightpath Estates LLC recently purchased the property at 39 McWhirt Loop (Unit 105) in Stafford from Crowne Innsbrook LLC for $265,000, according to Coldwell Banker Commercial Elite.
  • CVC Management LLC recently purchased the property at 112 Falcon Drive in Spotsylvania from C & K Investors LLC for $950,000, according to Coldwell Banker Commercial Elite.
  • A building with a 2,585-square-foot restaurant space with a drive-through proposed for a Chipotle restaurant, and an adjoining 2,554-square-foot single-tenant retail space is proposed on a 1.2-acre property on the north side of U.S. 17 and the south side of the Cardinal Forest Drive intersection in Stafford (12 Cardinal Forest Drive). A conditional-use permit is required for the drive-through. An affiliate of the Vakos Companies is the developer. Access to the site would be limited to Cardinal Forest Drive; there would be no direct access to Warrenton Road. A Tractor Supply retail store is under development directly to the east, and there is a Lidl grocery store on the other side of Cardinal Forest Drive.
  • The former 7-Eleven property at 1613 Dixon St. in Fredericksburg recently sold to Chesapeake-based 1613 Dixon LLC for $800,000, according to the City’s monthly land transfers report. Freedom Food Mart has opened there.
  • The 9,100-square-foot LINKBANK building at 410 William St. in Fredericksburg recently sold for $1.9 million, according to the City’s monthly land transfers report. The buyer was Wm. St. Partners LLC, and the seller was 410 William Street LLC.
  • Agora Downtown Coffee Shop in Fredericksburg is celebrating its 10-year anniversary this month.
  • The 2,025-square-foot medical office building at 400 Chatham Square Office Park in Stafford recently sold for $505,000, according to Johnson Realty Advisors. The seller was 400 Chatham LLC, and the buyer was Fitz Holdings LCC.
