Virginia State Police say early reports of a hit-and-run pickup involved in Tuesday’s I-95 crash in Spotsylvania were incorrect. In an updated press release Wednesday, investigators said there was no white pickup and that the initial information was wrong.
Troopers say the crash began just before 9 a.m. near the 120-mile marker when a Nissan Kicks hydroplaned on wet pavement, hit a guardrail, spun out, and struck a Toyota Highlander. A tractor-trailer then hit the Highlander. Two passengers in the Highlander were injured, one seriously, and a passenger in the Kicks suffered minor injuries.
State Police say the investigation is continuing.
