The Virginia Department of Environmental Quality, with the Virginia Drought Monitoring Task Force, has issued drought warnings for parts of Northern Virginia, including Arlington, Fairfax, Fauquier, Loudoun, and Prince William counties, along with the cities of Alexandria, Fairfax, Falls Church, Manassas, and Manassas Park.

Fredericksburg, Spotsylvania, Stafford, King George, Caroline, Culpeper, Orange, and Westmoreland counties — is under drought watch.

Continued dry conditions have left streams, groundwater, and soil well below normal, especially in the Piedmont and Blue Ridge regions.

DEQ is working with local governments and water systems to ensure drought response plans are followed. Officials are urging residents to conserve water, monitor conditions, and repair leaks.
