Stafford County native Elijah Sarratt was drafted 115th overall by the Baltimore Ravens in the fourth round of the NFL Draft on Saturday afternoon.

Sarratt (6-2, 210 pounds) recorded 65 receptions for 830 yards and 13 touchdown as a starter for the national champion Indiana Hoosiers last season. He was named second-team all-Big Ten, while averaging 12.8 yards per reception.

He played three years of football for Colonial Forge High School before making the difficult decision to transfer to Saint Frances Academy in Baltimore for his senior season to test himself against top competition and catch the eyes of college recruiters.

He signed with Saint Francis (Pa.), and earned FCS Freshman All-America honors in 2022 by catching 13 touchdown passes — tying a school record set three years earlier by Chancellor High School graduate E.J. Jenkins.

Sarratt transferred to James Madison University as a sophomore. In Harrisonburg, he caught a team-high 82 passes for 1,191 yards and eight touchdowns in his first season of FBS competition.

When then-JMU head coach Curt Cignetti accepted the Indiana job, Sarratt was among 13 Dukes who followed him west to Bloomington. Sarratt remained productive, catching 53 passes for 957 yards and eight touchdowns as a junior. He earned second-team all-Big Ten Conference honors and was named a finalist for the Biletnikoff Award, presented annually to the nation’s top receiver.
