The FIFA World Cup kicked off Thursday, with matches taking place across North America for the next month. Unfortunately for Fredericksburg folks, the closest action we’ll get is Philadelphia and Atlanta — Washington, D.C. bid for games but wasn’t selected as a host city, so we’ll be watching from the couch like the rest of the region. Or you could venture out to one of the many local bars and restaurants that will be airing the games, many with food and drink specials.
