Two Fredericksburg restaurants are included in the Virginia is for Lovers Culinary Madness Challenge, sponsored by the Virginia Tourism Corporation.
Rappahannock Area Health District (RAHD) officials conducted restaurant inspections at the following Fredericksburg locations March 27 and 28, 2014.
A “critical violation” is one that “poses a direct or immediate threat to the safety of the food being served.”
“In our experience, it is unrealistic to expect that a complex, full-service food operation can routinely avoid any violations,” officials said on the Virginia Department of Health’s website.

Columbia Gas has scheduled paving work in downtown Fredericksburg beginning Tuesday, April 15, through Thursday, April 24, 2014.
All streets will remain open during paving operations. However, temporary lane closures will be in effect while work is in progress. No work will be conducted on Friday and Saturday, April 18 and 19.

The Short Circuit Horse Show Association features classes suitable for every rider, from beginner to expert. The association will host 19 shows in its 2014 season. The schedule is listed at the end of this article.
Providing Opportunities for Practice
The Short Circuit Horse Show Association was founded in 1965 by a group of parents who wanted to provide opportunities for riding students to progress from beginner shows to A-rated shows.
Collaboration between several local organizations provided more than 900 grocery bags of food to Fredericksburg area homeless youth for Spring break.
The Center for Faith and Leadership at the University of Mary Washington and U4C Victory Ministry coordinated the food drive, with distribution assistance from the Stafford County and Spotsylvania County Public Schools McKinney-Vento program social workers and Fredericksburg Public Schools social workers.
