Have you heard your child tell you it isn’t fair?  A normal parental response is probably — life isn’t fair.
The interesting thing is that this conversation isn’t just limited to parents and their children who are under the age of 18. I just spent a weekend with family and I actually heard my parents saying it to one of my adult sisters.

Casey Shaw Features Fredericksburg Scenes in First Solo Show

Casey Alan Shaw will be exhibiting paintings, prints and drawings focused on Fredericksburg subjects at his first solo show in May and June.  His exhibition — “FXBG” — will be held at Studio A Gallery, upstairs at 1011A Princess Anne St., Fredericksburg.
“This is the very first time a large group of my work will be gathered in one venue,” Shaw said. “My recent work focuses on my love for the scenery of Fredericksburg and its icons.”

NWS Issues Flood Warning for Fredericksburg Region

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a flood warning for the City of Fredericksburg and the counties of Spotsylvania, Stafford, Orange, Prince William and Eastern Culpeper.
By 2 p.m. April 30, about two inches of rain had fallen across the area since the morning, and numerous creeks, steams and rivers were overflowing their banks, the NWS said.

Friends of the Rappahannock held their annual spring river clean-up on April 26.  Volunteers of all ages met in Old Mill Park for their assignments, then dispersed to clean trash from the Rappahannock River and nearby lands and streams.  Friends of the Rappahannock provided supplies and lunch.

Bring a picnic lunch, a blanket and the kids and enjoy live music, a moon bounce and other activities from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. every Tuesday in May, June and September — except May 27 and September 2.
