Mary Washington Hospital has been ranked fifth best of the 56 hospitals in U.S. News 2014-15 list of Best Hospitals in Washington DC Metropolitan Area, and sixth best in Virginia.

The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Rappahannock affiliate is accepting registration for Family-to-Family (F2F), a free 12-week course for family caregivers of individuals with mental illness.
F2F provides information on mental illness diagnoses as well as medications and side effects. Participants learn strategies for handling crises, and are provided guidance on local supports and services available within the community. The course is taught by trained family members.

University of Mary Washington (UMW) President Richard V. Hurley and Germanna Community College President David A. Sam signed three transfer and co-enrollment agreements for nursing education at a Monday morning ceremony on UMW’s Stafford campus.
The agreements provide three different pathways for a person in the community to become a nurse who is baccalaureate prepared.
The Parent Education – Infant Development Program (PE-ID) will celebrate its 35th anniversary with an open house from 3 – 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 16, at 700 Kenmore Ave. in Fredericksburg. A presentation will take place at 4 p.m. and refreshments will be served.
