“startupland” Debuts in Fredericksburg

I was standing in line for Sunday brunch at Foode, when tourists engaged me in conversation. These travelers wanted to eat brunch and get on the road. They didn’t want to wait. Where else in town could they go, they wanted to know?
I knew of a few downtown restaurants serving lunch on Sunday … but brunch?
So I asked on Facebook.
I investigated your suggestions, many of which turned out to be restaurants serving breakfast or lunch, not brunch. But I did discover five locations in downtown Fredericksburg serving Sunday brunch.
15 Restaurants Inspected, Four Receive Clean Bill of Health

Wegmans Cinnamon Raisin Buns Recalled

Wegmans has issued a voluntary recall of its Cinnamon Raisin Buns in 12 ounce packages stamped with a “use by” date of June 19, 2014, the store said on its website. The use by date is stamped on top the package, which also includes a Batch UPC Code of 7789092218.

American University, owner of the DC based 88.5 FM station, has filed an asset purchase agreement with the FCC for Spotsylvania County based WWED and its booster signal in Fredericksburg for $375,000.
Sandton Closes Deal, Names Interim FLS Publisher

Gene M. Carr has been hired as interim CEO and publisher of The Free Lance-Star, Sandton Capital Partners announced Thursday after closing on their purchase of the publishing company.
Additionally, all current FLS staff were offered their jobs at the same salary and with similar benefits, said Robert Orr, Sandton Capital Partners managing director.
