Dixon Park Pool is counting down the last days of summer with Labor Day Weekend swim hours and two special events the first week of September.
The pool is open 11:30 a.m. – 7 p.m. through Monday, Sept. 1, 2014, for swimming. A photo ID is required for entrance. City residents have free admission. Guests and nonresidents pay a fee: adults 18 – 54 pay $7; children 2 and younger are free; all others pay $5.

The second annual Eagle Nation Day will be hosted by the University of Mary Washington Athletics department beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 6. It will be held at the Battleground Athletic Complex off Hanover Street and on the UMW campus in Fredericksburg. The first 500 children and youth will receive a free t-shirt.
Washington Heritage Museums presents “Our Living Legacies: Postcards, Pots & Pests of the Past” at three of their historic properties from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 12 and 13, and from 12 – 4 p.m. on Sunday, 14. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children.
