What for 27 years has been known as the Fredericksburg Jaycees Christmas Parade will have a new name in 2014.
Fredericksburg Parks & Recreation is seeking sponsors — including a title sponsor — and volunteers for the 28th annual parade, scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 6.
Follow a latern-lit trail to the water’s edge to hear spooky stories!
Complete seven trail hikes to receive a $2 produce coupon from Wegman’s.
The entry deadline is February 6 or when the show reaches a maximum number of entries, whichever comes first.

Fredericksburg Parks & Recreation begins its 17th annual Picnic in the Park summer concert series in Hurkamp Park on Tuesday, May 6.
Bring a picnic lunch, a blanket and the kids and enjoy live music, a moon bounce and other activities from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. every Tuesday in May, June and September — except May 27 and September 2.

Fredericksburg Parks & Recreation is hosting a local #ALSIceBucketChallenge to raise money and awareness for ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. The event will take at 6 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 3, Dixon Park Pool, 1300 Dixon St., Fredericksburg.

Dixon Park Pool is counting down the last days of summer with Labor Day Weekend swim hours and two special events the first week of September.
The pool is open 11:30 a.m. – 7 p.m. through Monday, Sept. 1, 2014, for swimming. A photo ID is required for entrance. City residents have free admission. Guests and nonresidents pay a fee: adults 18 – 54 pay $7; children 2 and younger are free; all others pay $5.
