Dr. Chris Neibauer will discuss his “Seven Principals of Unconditional Responsibility” at a September 16 event to benefit Startup Weekend Fredericksburg and Made in FredVa.
The longtime Fredericksburg-area resident built Neibauer Dental Care into a healthcare business with annual revenues exceeding $60 million. His presentation will focus on entrepreneurship and what it takes to achieve success.

Jay’s Downtown Sports Lounge is nearing completion. Signage has been installed on the exterior. Staff at the site Saturday said they hope to open in late-October.
Sanjay Sharma leased the 7,500-square-foot space at 409 William St. from building owner Tommy Mitchell. It was previously F. W. Sullivans, which closed in July 2013.
Sharma also owns Jay’s Restaurant and Lounge at 2030 Plank Rd.

The civilian labor force unemployment rate in Fredericksburg is at 6.0 percent, according to August 2014 local unemployment statistics released October 1 by the Virginia Employment Commission. The number is not seasonally adjusted. It’s the highest unemployment rate for the city between July 2013 and August 2014.
