VDOT crews are working 24 hours a day using 1,000 pieces of equipment to clear 4,615 miles of secondary roads in the Fredericksburg District.
Clearing the snow is hampered by the amount and by the number of cars buried along the curb.

Despite the improving weather, motorists are urged to remain off the roads today.

Snowfall continues across the 14-county Fredericksburg District, and motorists are advised to stay off the roads for duration of the winter storm due to extremely hazardous driving conditions.
Interstate 95 and primary roads in the Fredericksburg District have minor to moderate snow coverage. Secondary and subdivision streets are mostly covered in snow.
